Ongoing cooperation and ties with the United States

Cyprus and the United States have been steadily strengthening their partnership, particularly in the areas of security and defense cooperation.

Cypriot authorities are working alongside the U.S. to modernize air and naval infrastructure, as part of wider collaboration efforts involving both Washington and the European Union.

The New Jersey–Cyprus National Guard Partnership continues to play a key role in bilateral military cooperation, focusing on areas such as maritime safety, disaster response, and joint training programs.

In addition, Cyprus takes part in broader EU–U.S. dialogues and regional security initiatives, which cover defense coordination, energy security, and efforts to maintain stability across the Eastern Mediterranean.
